ALPBACH - HOTELS & TOURIST INFORMATION

Alpbach is one of the classic Tyrolean ski resorts, situated on only forty minutes from Innsbruck. One will find there lots of charm, great scenery, friendly locals, pretty buildings and peaceful ambience. Available for accommodation are mostly hotels and guesthouses, most of which are family-run and pretty welcoming. The village has a population of about 2500 and occupies a beautiful location on a sunny plateau at an altitude of 1000 meters. By car you can easily reach Alpbach on the Inn Valley Autobahn from Innsbruck or Kufstein by taking the Kramsach exit. From there it is only nine kilometers to Alpbach. The nearest railway stations are Wörgl and Jenbach (about 20 km or so away) and close by are the airports of Innsbruck (57 km) and Munich (160 km).
Due to its uniform style in architecture and lovely flower decorations, Alpbach won the award for "Austria's most beautiful village" in 1983.

Alpbach skiing holidays

Skiing in Alpbach offers about fifty kilometers of groomed trails, seventy-five kilometers of immaculate cross-country skiing trails in scenic surroundings, untracked powder slopes for ski mountaineers and cleared winter hiking trails. There are slopes not only for experts but also for intermediates and beginners which makes Alpbach an ideal family region. The total slope length is 45 kilometers, consisting of eleven slopes with nineteen lifts. Ski school and childcare are of a high standard. The village is also used as a regular host for international events. Queues are usually not a problem, so one can have the pleasure of experiencing the real Tyrolean without the scrums.

Of course Alpbach offers and all the traditional off-snow activities, so skiing isn't the only attraction for visitors. There are quite a lot of old-fashioned places for eating up the mountain, but the choice in the resort is more limited.
