Innsbruck

Innsbruck, the capital city of Tyrol is situated in the western region of Austria at altitude of 573 meters.   It lies 190 kilometers off Salzburg. Innsbruck has become the centerpiece of commercial sectors. In the eastern part of Alps, if you start your trip from Italian borderline to reach the outskirts of Innsbruck, you will have to spend maximum 30 minutes to reach your destination.  A span of another 45 minutes will be spent to reach Innsbruck from the borderline rimming the contour of Germany.

Bergisel Ski Jump
Bergisel Ski Jump situated in Bergisel Hill, is wooded and towers high up the city, giving a striking sight. The hill site is historic. During the year 1809 it was a scene of battles, Andreas Hofer was the person who led some of the Tyrolean peasants against Bavarian and French forces in Tyrolean War for independence. The ski jump was initially built in the year 1925 and later on in 1964 & 1976; the venue for Olympic Ski Jumping was the Ski Jump of Innsbruck. After certain reconstructions in plan, Zaha Hadid the architect designed the new spectacular ski jump. The work for construction started in the year 2001 and was completed in 2002 September. The architect designed it in such a way that every guest coming to Innsbruck should never miss it. The height of the tower is 47 meters and it gives spectacular views. Now it can house about 30 thousand spectators. The stadium features panoramic cafe, elevator, gondola & vantage spot which are open to all visitors on the platform. The surrounding summits can be viewed from the special restaurant; the summits are Nordkette, Patscherkofel, Hohe Munde and Serles.
The Swarovski Kristallwelten (Kristallwelten)
By taking Wattens bus and travelling for fifteen minutes from Busbahnhof you will go to a world of magic that you haven’t imagined of! An artificial hill that is like an enormous face, from the mouth of which a waterfall spouts out, is the place you arrive at. Beneath the hill Swarovski Crystal World (wonderful place with seven linked halls) is found. This place was designed to honour Daniel Swarovski, the founder of crystals biggest producer. This word was designed by Andrew Heller and was opened in the year 1995. The big head forms the entrance which leads to perfectly made crystal wall. The wall is made up of twelve tons of world’s most perfect crystals.
