TUX - HOTELS & TOURIST INFORMATION

Tux is a hospitable resort with long traditions, magnificent landscapes and various events. It has 1978 inhabitants and is located 1500m above the sea level. It is near a mountain and has ski-in/ski-out. It also is surrounded by meadows, forests, beautiful Alpine flowers and the Hintertux Glacier.
If you are keen on hiking, you can choose from around 350km of marked paths suitable for all difficulty levels. There are also professional hiking guides who can show you the most attractive spots and neat mountain huts. Tux also has Nordic hiking trails.
During the summer you can use many operating gondolas and lifts. One of them can easily take you to the Hintertux Glacier. The place is 3 250m above the sea level and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Alpine chains - Großglockner peak, the Dolomites, Zugspitze summit and the Karwendel mountains.
There are public buses from Mayrhofen to Hintertux and Tux , express trains and Zillertalbahn steam railway to Mayrhofen. The nearest airports are in Innsbruck (90km), Munich (230km) and Salzburg (160km).
