FUGEN (FUEGEN) - HOTELS & TOURIST INFORMATION

The Zillertal ski area main resort of Fugen (3700 inhabitants) is situated at 550 meters elevation and provides with good range of accommodation for different tastes. The town has a local heritage museum, some nice historic chapels, interesting old churches and is close to the ski pistes and the riverside. Fügen also features a great choice of cosy inns, restaurants, bars and pubs. The base station of the Spieljochbahn lifts is right in the resort and provides with easy access to the family-friendly ski area. Ski shuttles are available between Fuegen and the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal skiing area. The entire Zillertal Ski area from which is part and Fugen, provides with access to 52 ski pistes. Fugen itself has 19 lifts in operation during the ski season and 30 kilometers of cross country trails.

There are 3 nearby airports to Fugen, within couple hours drive, so short ski holidays to Fugen are easily realizable. Innsbruck Airport is the nearest (around 60 km) - only one hour drive away, in good road conditions. The others are Munich (approximately 130 km) and Salzburg -150 km.
There is also a fast train to Jenbach - Zillertal (or bus) to Fuegen - Fügenberg - Hart and Uderns.
By car one can get there via Inntal autobahn (A12), exit Zillertal. Then B169 federal road (which is around seven kilometers to Fugen). Another (toll-free option) is via Achensee or the federal road from Kiefersfelden/Wörgl/Rattenberg.
