Situated at an elevation of 1,430 meters, Damuls is one of the best places for skiing in the Bregenz Forest. Usually, hotels organize weekly après-ski programs, so check to see what's going on during your stay. Damüls, the loftiest village in the forest, is an area of magnificent scenic beauty, so a summer visit would also be enjoyable.
From Bregenz, visitors can take a southbound fifteen minutes train to Dornbirn and then board one of the buses to Damuls. Buses depart from here around 6 times a day and the trip takes about 1.5 hour.
To get to the town from Innsbruck, one have to take a two-hour train ride west to Bludenz and then board one of the nine daily buses that depart for to Damüls(trip time - 90 minutes). The town is sixty kilometers southeast of Bregenz, and about 700 km west of Vienna. To get to Damuls by car from Bezau, drive southeast along Route 200 until you come to the junction with Route 193, and then head southwest to Damuls.
