Due to its sunny and wind sheltered location, Bezau is a very attractive and popular both - winter and summer holiday resort. The small town is situated near Cable Car, by a mountainside, Near Cross Country Ski Track, Ski-In/Ski-Out and has about two thousand inhabitants.
The famous town of the Bregenz Forest, Bezau is surrounded by a picturesque landscape that's scenic in any season. One should be careful not to confuse Bezau with a village nearby, at the end of the neighboring valley, named Bizau.
In the spring, summer, and autumn, one can hike, go mountaineering, swim, fish for trout, or play tennis or minigolf. In winter there's alpine skiing, with the Hinter-Bregenzerwald ski ticket covering a range of more than fifty lifts and cable railways. There are nearly sixty kilometers of cross-country ski trails, and you can also go tobogganing. The historical Walderbahnle train is absolutely a must trip. The Bezau mountain rail-ways take the hikers up to the Sonderdach and the Baumgartenhohe, which are starting points for numerous hiking tours and meeting points for para-gliders. Besides, Bezau offer an excellent environment for sportsmen and women, like numerous cycling paths, a tennis hall, an outdoor swimming pool, cross-country-skiing tracks, an illuminated toboggan run and winter walking paths.
Bezau Skiing Holidays
There are no railway connections near Bezau. Most of the travelers take one of the many daily trains to Dornbirn - a fifteen minute ride south of Bregenz. Around twenty buses depart every day from Dornbirn and the trip to Bezau takes less than an hour.
If you're driving from Bregenz, head south on the A14 to the junction with Route 200. Head east along this winding road to Bezau, which lies thirty-six kilometers from Bregenz.
The tourist office is in the center of town and is open Monday to Friday from 8am to noon and 1:30 to 5pm. Saturday 8am to noon.
