NEUSTIFT - HOTELS & TOURIST INFORMATION

Neustift

Neustift is an old village which name means "new monastery" or "new church". In fact the place dates back to 1505 when Emperor Maximilian I built a chapel there. Just like the other villages in the Stubai Valley, Neustift is a tourist destination from the 19th century, when it was discovered by some mountain climbers. The place is near Innsbruck (27km) and Fulpmes (6km).
Neustift is distinctively separated into two districts - Neustift-Dorf (the northern and more populated part) and Neustift-Kreuz (the southern part, 2 km away). The whole village is located at around 910m elevation and is popular during the summer due to its long hiking trails, reaching to the glaciers of the Stubai Alps. If you are keen on skiing, you can take a lift to the Stubai Glacier (3 065m), where skiing is available all year round. For advanced skiers, there is a chairlift, going to the Elferberg, well-known for the magnificent views and toboggan runs.

Neustift Skiing Holidays

The summits in the area are stunning and there are eleven lifts are right in the resort of Neustift, bringing skiers, snowboarders, hikers and para-gliders uphill. The largest glacier ski area in Austria, with over 110 kilometers of pistes ensures great skiing year-round. The village of Neustift is the start of the 120 km long Stubai High Elevation Trail, which takes one through the magnificent landscapes of the nature park. Snowboarders are also pleased by exciting slopes and a one-hundred meters long half pipe at the Schaufelschuss.
