Mauerbach is a typical Austrian community in the woods around Vienna, easily accessible from the metropolitan city. The town is situated 287 meters above the sea level and has about 3200 inhabitants.
There are numerous leisure time activities, such as fishing, tennis, horseback riding, beautiful hiking paths, etc. Also there is annual hiking day on the 26th of October as well as the castle park hall and the leisure center "Feldwiese".
