"Blue Danube Airport", the airport of Linz, is located in the south-west outskirts of the city.
The airport has also a shuttle service - passengers landing in Linz are welcomed to use the free shuttle buses between Linz Airport and Hoersching station which are available from 5.00 a.m. to 10 p.m. This transfer takes about three minutes. To order a shuttle service, one should contact the information desk at the airport or the station manager at Hoersching station.
At Linz’s Railway Station there are arriving and departing trains from and to Salzburg, Vienna, Passau, Graz, Prague, etc.
If you want to use buses, then you don’t have any problems as Linz has a vast network of bus lines which carry passengers from the busy railway station to the outstretched villages and hamlets of Upper Austria. However, because of its frequent rail connections to Vienna, Salzburg and the major cities of Europe, few are the passengers who prefer traveling long distances to Linz by bus than by train.
If coming from Salzburg or Vienna by car, one should take Autobahn A1 - Exit Linz/Zentrum. If coming from Graz, take A9 to A1 - Exit Linz/Zentrum. Those coming from Prague, drive along Freistadt on Mühlkreis Autobahn A7 - Exit Linz/Hafenstraße. In case you come from Regensburg, Passau, take A8 to A1 – take the exit Linz/Zentrum or drive along the Danube by taking B 127.
There are also boats traveling along the Danube from Passau and Vienna.
