The popular resort of Bischofshofen is the largest village in Pongau area and important transportation hub, as well as economic center, located among beautiful Alpine scenery.

The Bischofshofen surrounding mountains include Tennengebirge, Buchberg, Hochgruendeck, Hochkeil Salzachtal valley and Hochkoenig mounts, creating unique landscape and endless possibilities for various sports and activities in any season.

There are many trains arriving and leaving from Bischofshofen train station, including international trains.
By car one can get to the village:
From the south:  via A10 Tauernautobahn motorway to Bischofshofen.
From the west: A1 and A10 motorways to Bischofshofen.
From Germany: either via B311 or A10 motorway after the boarder.
