Waidhofen, located near a river side, is famous for its various historical stages – it has been at war and peace with the neighbouring country Böhmen ever since 1171. This has also affected its architecture. There are the famous towers of the church and the town hall, combined with medieval defense structures. The town has 5760 inhabitants and is at 510m elevation.
