Tulfes (~1450 residents) is a traditional Tirolean resort, located on a high plateau (922 meters) above the Inn Valley, only half hour away from the province capital of Innsbruck. Most ski pistes here are suitable for beginners and intermediates, but with a ski pass one can enjoy snow sports and in the skiing areas around Innsbruck.
The beautiful location of Tulfes on a sunny plateau above Inntal attracts many hikers during the summer season and ski mountaineers in winter. The local mountain of Glungezer, provides with some fantastic views of the majestic Karwendel massif and Inntal valley. A very popular and particularly interesting hiking path on Glungezer is Zirbenweg (Pine trail), which is suitable for the whole family. Other activities in the area of Tulfes include skiing, tobogganing, ski mountaineering. The resort provides it guests with good hotel accommodation, private apartments, ski chalets and mountain huts.
Tulfes Skiing Holidays
The Austrian village of Tulfes has direct access to seven individual runs, catered also by seven lifts. In addition to the snowsports in the resort of Tulfes itself with a lift pass one can enjoy the ski runs in the other Innsbruck Glacier Ski and Stubai SuperSki skiing areas. Tulfes’ seven lifts have the ability to take up 7200 people per hour.
Tulfes Transportation
There are three airports within 2 hours drive from Tulfes, with the closest being this in Innsbruck, which is less than a hour away. By train one can get to the Innsbruck train station - from where to continue with bus to Tulfes. By car via A 12 motorway, take the exit Hall-Mitte, from where it is only six kilometers to the resort of Tulfes.
