Vienna is both the capital of Austria and one of the nine states in the country. The state is actually the city itself with its belonging areas. The population of the state (and the city) is 1 651 437 people which makes it the largest state in terms of population. At the same time the state Vienna is the smallest state in Austria with territory of only 415 sq km. The state is actually surrounded by the state Lower Austria. It is also near the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

Vienna is the seat of many offices of the United Nations, including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law's.

Vienna is separated into 23 districts - Innere Stadt (city centre), Leopoldstadt, Landstraße, Wieden, Margareten, Mariahilf, Neubau, Josefstadt, Alsergrund, Favoriten, Simmering, Meidling, Hietzing, Penzing, Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, Ottakring, Hernals, Währing, Döbling, Brigittenau, Floridsdorf, Donaustadt and Liesing.
Vienna is also the economical and cultural center of Austria and thus it offers a really great variety of attraction for every taste. Here are some of them:
