Situated at 1173 meters above the sea level, in the heart of the Oetztal, the village of Langenfeld (~4773 residents) lies among lush green meadows, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Oetztal and Stubaital Alps. In the area of Laengenfeld one will discover picturesque landscapes and a recreational paradise for both - body and mind. Längenfeld boasts some one hundred and fifty kilometers of signed hiking trails, eighty kilometers of marked cycling and mountain biking paths as well as additional one hundred and fourteen kilometers of great running routes. So the sport fans definitely won't get bored here. Other activities in the area include Nordic skiing, fishing, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, tobogganing, ice skating, climbing trails, a geology trail, cultural highlights and activity programs for children. The resort of Langenfeld offers good choice of hotels and private accommodation, as well as some nice restaurants.
Langenfeld Spa - Therme Aqua Dome Langenfeld
Another great attraction of Langenfeld is the Aqua Dome Längenfeld, which is first year-round thermal spa center in Tyrol. The mineral water temperature varies from 28 °C to
36 °C and the Aqua Dome spa, attracts many visitors not only from Austria.
The spa center, which is set up on around 50000 sq. m. area includes thermal hall and outdoor area with three bowl-shaped pools, the Gletscherglühen sauna area, wellness & beauty centre, the Gipfelsturm fitness centre, Noah’s Alpine Children’s Park, annexed Aqua Dome 4-star Superior Hotel and a lot more.
Langenfeld Winter Holidays
Cross country skiers in Langenfeld can enjoy the scenery of the area along sixty kilometers kilometres of trails. Besides skiing Langenfeld is great for winter trekking and walking around the valley. One can also take a horse driven coaches or a sledge down on any of the 3 great sledge tracks. Actually tobogganing is pretty popular here during the winter.
For the more serious skiers and snowboarders, the nearby ski resorts of Solden, Obergurgl and Hochgurgl are excellent and convenient choice.
Langenfeld Transportation
The nearest airports to the village are these in Innsbruck, Salzburg and Munich.
By train one can gete here either to Otztal railway station and from there continue by bus to Laengenfeld or to Innsbruck’s main station, from there by train to Ötztal or
directly by bus from Innsbruck to Langenfeld, which many consider the best option.
By car:
