The Austrian holiday village of Kleinarl is situated at 1014 meters altitude above the larger ski resort of Wagrain and has ~850 people population. Its location lakeside/riverside and close to ski slopes location, makes it perfectly feasible for family vacations. Some activities during the summer season here include hiking, mountain biking, horse-riding, fishing, water sports and more.
Kleinarl is part of the Ski Amade, which is one of the largest ski circuits in Austria. The resort is close to the other ski destination of Wagrain and is connected by lift to Flachauwinkl and Zauchensee. Kleinarl has modern ski facilities, excellent choice of hotel accommodation and ski chalets, as well as a ski kindergarten.
Kleinarl Skiing Holidays
The Austrian ski resort of Kleinarl is part of the Salzburger Sportwelt skiing area and has access to one hundred and one individual ski runs. In addition to the snow sports available in Kleinarl itself, which has forty kilometers of ski, the appropriate lift-pass will give one access to the other Salzburger Sportwelt ski villages of Altenmarkt, Filzmoos, Flachau, Radstadt, Wagrain and Zauchensee. The resort has artificial snowmaking facilities – there are seventy-five snow cannons, which cover seventeen kilometers of ski pistes. The ten lifts here have capacity of twenty thousand riders per hour.
Kleinarl’s 4-section Absolute snow park is 1.5 kilometers long and includes 2 big kickers, a rail combo, half pipe, jibpark, etc.
Kleinarl Transportation
The nearest airports to Kleinarl are these in Salzburg and Munich.
By train one can visit the resort Vienna/Munich via Bischofshofen - St. Johann/Pongau or
from Vienna through Semmering - Selzthal – Radstadt and from there continue by bus from St. Johann/Pongau or from Radstadt.
By car: Vienna - Munich motorway: Salzburg, take the exit to Flachau.
Another option is from Salzburg via Bischofshofen - St. Johann/Pongau - Wagrain and Kleinarl.
