HOF BEI SALZBURG - HOTELS & TOURIST INFORMATION
|
Fifteen minutes from Salzburg, situated on Lake Fuschl is this resort - once famous with Salzburg aristocrats who came for its private hunting and fishing preserves set among majestic mountains, woods, and crystal alpine waters.
There is a 9-hole golf course in Hof bei Salzburg and one can lazily spend the day fishing for trout on the lake. From here it is also easy to explore not only the Fuschlsee, but the Wolfgangsee and the Mondsee as well.
Like the suburb of Anif, Hof bei Salzburg is an ideal spot for traditional accommodations, especially come festival time in August, when hotel rooms are virtually impossible to obtain in Salzburg.
There are no any railway lines running into Hof bei Salzburg, but buses go frequently to and from the nearest railway junctions, at Salzburg and at Bad Ischl. From the railway station at Bad Ischl, about ten buses depart every day - each of which stops in Fuschl (the trip takes about an hour). An equal number of buses depart from the railway station at Salzburg (trip takes thirty minutes). If you are driving, take Route 158 east of Salzburg for about 20 kilometers. Hof bei Salzburg is situated on three hundred kilometers southwest of Vienna.
