SOLDEN - HOTELS & TOURIST INFORMATION
|

Sölden is the capital of the inner Ötz Valley and is located at 1,342m elevation. The resort is popular throughout the whole year with its valley, forests, high mountains and folkloristic traditions. The place is near Innsbruck (90km), Imst (69km) and Otz (60km). Another near-by place is the winter resort Hochsölden (9km), which is reachable by road, cable car and ski lift. Hochsölden is not as comfortable as Sölden, but it is attractive for those, who don’t want the usual tourist crowds.
If you want to reach to the Geislachkogel peak (3 031m above the sea level) you can use the most famous cable car in Austria – Geislachkogelbahn. From that peak one can admire a magnificent view of the Ötzal Alps.

Also from Sölden begins the Otztaler Gletscherstrasse (Ötzal Glacier Road), which climbs up to 2 821m above sea level and finally reaches to a place near the Ötzal Glacier. The road and the Glacier are also place, where one can admire the beauty of nature.
Solden Transportation
There are buses, connecting Solden with Otz since Soelden does not have a train station. The nearest one is the Ötzal Bahnhof – 40 km away. If you travel from Innsbruck, you should follow Route 171 and then Route 186.
