HINTERTUX - HOTELS & TOURIST INFO
|

At the end of the Ziller valley, on Austrian Hintertuxer Glacier (3000 m), which is one of the most popular skiing areas in the country you can enjoy great year-round skiing and snowboarding combined with excellent and comfortable hotel accommodation in cozy holiday apartments and chalets. However, the resort’s proximity to large cities such as Innsbruck and Munich means it can easily get over-crowded at the weekends. The ski pistes are found so far as one can see, among some fantastic panoramas from the dolomites to the Zugspitze. Hintertux offers good intermediate and advanced runs higher up the mountain, but beginners may struggle if the lower slopes do not have enough snow cover. Usually the Hintertux resort caters for weekend visitors rather than those looking for a week or longer holiday. Whether one is sportily active or would prefer to go for a pleasant stroll, the Tuxer mountain has much to offer. There is a good variety of sports and activities, so either one want to go rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, skiing or snowboarding - each day you can experience something different. Also in Hintertux one can experience some exciting paragliding taster courses.
