The Austrian ski resort of Ehrwald is lies in a wide and sunny valley, nestled between the majestic mountain ranges of Mieminger and Wettersteingebirge. The village is situated at 1000 meters altitude and has ~2680 inhabitants. The recreational area is pretty popular among the mountain bikers and hikers loving the unspoiled nature. There is a great variety of trails and paths for all abilities. There are gentle Tyrolean meadowland paths, challenging hiking trails as well as climbing trails, dotted with traditional mountain huts. The village of Ehrwald has many good hotels, cosy mountain huts in its surroundings, as well as ski chalets.

Ehrwald Skiing Holidays
Ehrwald has on offer 2 local skiing areas - the Ehwalder Alm and the Wettersteinbahnen-Sonnennang. The local glacier ski area can be reached by bus or car and cable car. There also many other small skiing areas around, combined providing with a total of around two hundred kilometers of skiable terrain. The Tirolean winter resort of Ehrwald is part of the Zugspitz Arena Ski Area and in addition to the snowsports in Ehrwald itself (21 ski slopes), the appropriate lift pass will provide one with access to the ski pistes of the nearby resorts of Berwang and Lermoos. Ehrwald has snow making facilities, consisting of 113 snow cannons which cover a skiable area of twenty kilometers. There are twenty-four lifts, which are able to uplift ~23000 skiers and snowboarders per hour. The ski slopes of Ehrwaldare particularly suitable for intermediate skiers and boarders. For the snowboarders and free riders, the resort has a half pipe and terrain park on the Ehrwalder Alm and on the Platt of the Zugspitz and Wetterstein. However, most visitors prefer the snow park on the Ehrwalder Alm.

The nearest airports to Ehrwald are in Innsbruck (~70 km) and in Munich (~140 km).
By train one can reach the resort from Innsbruck - Garmisch - Ehrwald, or via Reutte to Ehrwald.
By bus from Reutte to Ehrwald, or from Innsbruck to Ehrwald or Landeck - Ehrwald. By car via Landeck-Fernpass or Innsbruck-Fernpass to Ehrwald.
From Germany via Garmisch or Kempten-Reutte then to Ehrwald.
